Author Bio
STEPHEN MITCHELL, Ph.D. - Dr. Stephen Mitchell was one of today's foremost writers and developers of contemporary thought in object relations theory. Founder and editor of Psychoanalytic Dialogues, a journal of relational perspectives, he was a training and supervising analyst at the William Alanson White Institute and on the faculty of the New York University post doctoral program. He was author of four books, most recently Freud and Beyond: A History of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Thought, co-authored with Margaret Black.
