This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
• The emergence of a developmental model based on the study of normal infants and children
• The patient‘s assets and the striving for confidence and self-worth are seen as the building blocks for change in brief treatment
• A framework for brief therapy in which effective and lasting psychotherapeutic results can be achieved in a relatively brief period by focusing on the present and the patient‘s strengths
• Regression is avoided by beginning with the assumption that the patient, until proven otherwise, possesses the resources to accomplish his or her goal
